The Robert Morris Inn is a member of Select Registry, a collection of some of the finest inns and bed and breakfasts in North America. We are the only inn or bed and breakfast with this distinction in the St. Michaels, Maryland region. Our inn is located in the colonial town of Oxford, which is close to Saint Michaels, Easton, and Cambridge.
The Inn dates back to 1710 and was once the home of Robert Morris, Sr., and his son Robert Morris Jr. who gained fame as “Financier of the Revolution.” Just steps from our covered front porch you will find the tranquil Tred Avon River and the historic Oxford Bellvue car-ferry, dating back to 1635. St. Michaels is only a six mile drive from the Bellvue side of the river. Rooms in the historic building are located on the second and third floors. Our stairway is wide and gradual (phew)! Accommodations here range from tiny sleeping rooms with one double bed to larger accommodations with king beds and adjoining sitting rooms. Four of the Inn's 14 rooms have side views of the river. These are the 1710 rooms with all their original paneling and charm. The historic restaurant where breakfast is served is located on the first floor.
All overnight guest of the Robert Morris Inn may use the Sandaway waterfront lawn and beach. Some of the best views and sunsets in the Chesapeake Bay region are found at Sandaway. The Sandaway Lodge also has a cable tv for those guests that don’t have television in there rooms.
The Robert Morris Inn can be available for weddings and business conferences. Please contact us as soon as possible to make a reservation.

Second Floor 1710 Room Our largest colonial corner room comes with all the historical charm you can handle: slanted doorways, a fireplace (non working) made from the bricks of ship's ballast, and original paneling. Even if your room does not have a water view, no need to worry. Most guests are out and about during the day. The whole village is surrounded by water-perfect for strolling about. We have a waterfront sitting room off of the lobby and covered porches on both properties. It is almost impossible to escape water views here.
Ferry View Rooms
This separate building is located next to the Inn, across the driveway, and faces the River and the historic car ferry. One unit has a king bed and the other can be king or twin. Both rooms have bay windows with water views, reading areas, large bathrooms, and private parking spots. We have decorated with the same furnishings and fabrics we use in the Inn rooms. These Ferry View Rooms are great for guests who like first floor accommodations. Each room has cable tv.
